Emotional Drain And Pain - Spinal Cord Disorders Message Board

Need to know if anyone is or has gone through what I am. This is very upsetting to me that I am having these feelings. I feel as though nothing is going right I have no energy, I know that the Pain Meds are prescribbed for a reason, but yesterday I had forgotton to take my pain meds and I am feeling every little nook and crany pain possible, but most of all I feel like someone took a hose and drained me, to where I have very little or no umph to do to much. My pain level is at one of its highest that I have had in quite awhile even being on the Meds.

I am an Inventory Manager and concentration is a big thing to be able to do but right now I can't even concentrate. If someone has any ideas I would much appreciate them. Thanks in advance

It has helped me to keep a pain diary and also mark off each day on a calander. It may sound foolish, but what I did see was improvement at a very slow rate, which helps keep my spirits up. My wife suggested it and I kind of thought it was foolish at first, but it really helps.

Whether or not to take the pain meds is a tough one. It's one of the reasons that I went with Ultracet with Flexeril if needed. That combo doesn't seem to buzz a person up as bad as some of the others. Good Luck.
