Hi! Does anyone know what a "straightening of the normal cervical lordosis" means? & Does anyone know any good neurosurgeons in NYC? Thanks!

Hi There, I dont know any good surgeons in NYC, however, i do know a excellent surgeon who is one of the top 15 in the country who is only about 4 hours + or - from you in Williamsport Pa. His name is Dr. Hani Tuffaha. Good luck, Hurdy P.S. I had a ACDF C 4-5 and 5-6 with cages on 4/5/04 Dr. Tuffaha did my surgery!

There is a normal curve in the lower back - lordosis. Sounds like your curve has straightened to some extent. I have the same thing in my neck. There is supposed to be a normal curve there as well, and mine is more straight. I don't think this, by itself, would be cause for surgery, unless there are other problems, of course. Good luck.

Hi! Thanks! I'll look into it, my neck has c5-6 herniation, I'm (desparately) ready for them to remove it ^^;;;;

I hope you don't mind me asking, but how did your surgery go? If I underwent, would I have to expect some post-op discomfort?
