| Rehab after Neck fusion
I am about 15 months post-op ACDF with corpectomy.
I would like to know a plan of action for regaining strength thru the neck and back … similar to a physical therapy plan.
My surgeon is NOT experienced at rehab and my P.T. has not given clear direction.
My recovery seems to be proceeding well. Assuming everything was done fine, my questions are:
() Should I generally try to stretch the neck and back. For example, if I am capable of bending down and touching my toes, is that damaging to the titanium plate in the neck?
()Can I do an inversion hanging at the gym? Or does that bother the titanium / bone fusion?
() Should I do lat pulls behind my back to strengthen that weakened area?
() What are the major things or action plans that I SHOULD BE doing?
ANY help, opinions, or web sites about Physical Therapy after neck fusions would be greatly appreciated. Any things that your doctor or therapist said would be helpful. I have been left totally in the dark.
