| Re: incision site
Sorry about that last reply...clicked the wrong button.
I had c 6/7 done a year and a half ago and still experience numbness and sharp pains in my neck.cin area. My doc has said that they cut through nerves etc and that it may be something that I will just have to live with. Thats easy to agjust to knowing that's the cards I was dealt.
As far as the bending over thing, I too have a sensation when I bend over, it is at the base of the incision site but my sensation is like my throat collapsing, cutting off my air flow, causes terrible coughing fits. This too does not happen all the time, I find that if I keep my head up when bending over it doesn't happen so much.
Yesterday I went in for a CT scan so that the doc can examine the soft tissues around the area to make sure that something is not wrong. Then he is sending me to another specialist that may or may not do more extensive tests. He first sent me to an ENT doc who did a scope and thought it was GERD. Took meds for two months...didn't work.
Doc says that there is a possibility this may be in my head. He has had it happen one other time with someone that had similiar surgery, it is called something like gagglesteria or odd name like that, he always rattles it off so fast I can't remember.
One thing...tell your doc and keep telling the doc if you have to...make them hear what you are saying!! I had to do this. I looked them in the eyes and said...Listen to me, hear what I'm saying to you.
