[QUOTE=DonnaKay]Hi! I remember your tales of Australia. :-)
After my first fusion (1997), I never dreamed I'd have another (2003). Life was so normal. :-) After the second one, life is so normal as well, but now I really watch myself b/c I really don't care to throw myself into a third, however I do expect it, whereas I was totally naive the first go around. Yo Donna
You bring up an interesting point about whether or not to expect further surgery. I've thought about this a fair bit and tried to decide at what level I should consider changing my lifestyle to go easy on remaining discs. Considering I could get run over by a rampant bull tomorrow I believe that I shouldn't mollycoddle myself too much but at the same time be sensible. I've decided I'll reduce hi impact pursuits such as power boating, horse riding etc. I'll make a conscious effort to make sure I wear well cushioned shoes and train myself to attain good posture. I'm 3 weeks out of the operation and not taking pain killers which is highlighting the things that I can and can't do. Have to say that sitting at a puta is probaly not one of the best. I was told that if you tilt the keyboard front up it improves your posture. Actually, could you all try this and see what you think? I just put a book under the front and it does seem to be a lot better.
Donna, I dont think we need assume that we will be back under the knife. 3% chance per year. If we are sensible why should we be the minority.
Somebody mentioned nutrition. Any more info on that? Shark cartilage?
Love to here more from all on preventitive measures.
Hope you are well.
