Hate to post like this but I wanted to be sure you saw this!! I was reading another post and saw you had weed eatted....don't be doing these things. I know you feel somewhat better but don't push it.

Before surgery this was my main question...."How long til I can mow and weed eat?" I love doing my yard work. I was told not for 6 weeks. What til your next appointment and ask about these things before trying. I know the weed eater didn't weight much but it is the vibrating I think.

I know we are all ready to try to see what our new necks can do but don't push it. At eight weeks I could wash my car and hand wax it which was impossible pre-surgery. Things are alot easier but can still flare the muscles up. Please be careful.

Cindee -

My doctor no longer allows me to mow and weedeat after a 3 level ACDF. I've tried to get my lawn care service on my Health Insurance, but no luck yet.

I am undergoing PT and she says that there will come a day when she will tell me it is OK to return to yard work. The main problem that they have with it is holding up the weedeater, and when mowing, the action of pushing the handle down and twisting as we change the direction of the mower.

My doctor said a riding mower was OK for me, but my yard is way too small.

Hey Cindee,
Well I learned my lesson. I have not done that again. I guess I will get it next year. Also wanted to tell you that you were right about the patches for smoking. Doctor told me not to use them. So i am going a different road on it. Still smoking but have picked a quit date and have everything lined up for it. So maybe it will work.

My husband has tried numerous times to quit his addiction to chewing tobacco. He is 40 and has been doing this since he was 16. He is currently on his second successful week, with the help of Well - butrin. He doubled up on the doseage on the day he started (after taking a regular doseage for a month prior), after we read an article with tips for quitting smoking. This has helped him soooo much.
