Hi, I am a regular on the Back Pain board as I am recuperating from L4/5, S1 fusion surgery and Laminectomy done on 9/12/06. In August I had an MRI on my neck. These are the results:
Spondylotic changes more at C5-6 to the left
Moderate foraminal stenosis at C5-6 on left adjacent to the exiting left
C6 nerve root.
Disc herniation c5-6 including left side of thecal sac and left lateral recess,
along with osseous hypertrophy "disc ridge complex"
Small subligamentous disc herniation at C6-7
Bulging annulus at C3-4 and slightly C4-5
Reversal of the cervical lordosis is noted, clinical correlation is suggested
regarding the possibility of muscle spasm.
My back had Lumbar Spondylolethesis L5, S1, L5 herniation, arthritis etc. That is why I recently had the fusion surgery. Does anyone know what all that means? The Dr. says 3 herniated discs and 3 buldging discs with pinched nerve and arthritis. My back was healing fine. I am experiencing some more muscle pain. My neck is killing me. I have also been diagnosed with tendonitis in my elbow and DeQuarvian's Teno (something). The past few weeks I've been experienceing horrible pain between my shoulder blades. My right elbow is swollen. Both hands have horrible pain in them. My fingers are killing me. I can hardly grip anything with my right hand. The pain is killing me. I'm doing therapy for my back. I need neck therapy but they can't do both at once. The Dr. gave me Skelaxin 800mg every 6 hours. I have been taking Neurontin for months. Dr. increased to 1800 mg which is two three times a day. I'm also taking Ultram 100 time release. I am also using Lidoderm patches. Still with all that I am in horrible pain. Been using heating pad also. All this is making my back recovery harder. Just wondering if anyone has gone through this. I've never been in an accident or anything. Think it is all work related as been typing 22 years on typewriter and computer. The elbow pain started when I was moved to another office in 2005. Since then it has been downhill. Sorry for the long post.
