Good luck to this week's surgeries

HI all my surgery was put off until 330 pm tomorrow and I had to start with liquids all day today (last solid food was yesterday afternoon) then I can't have any thing but clear liquids till 7am then nothing after that till after surgery! Isn't that excessive?? My blood sugar is going to bottom out.. I am a little worried! It was scheduled for 8 am then they changed it and called me at 4pm so it was too late for me to eat anything by the time they called!! Oh well... I wish everyone the best of luck! bdancer (jean)

It does sound interesting. I was told by my doctor to eat regularly until 12 hours before the surgery.

I was told the same thing. 12 hours. Can you believe how different these surgeons all are in their protocols? Sorry you have to go thru that because I know how hard that is. Gee whiz.

Also good luck, all. I think it's strange too about the different eating/drinking requirements. I just finished my last drink of water, exactly at 11:59. I'm having an early surgery & allowed stuff in my system 9 hours away. My last surgery, something else completely different was far worse, no food/drink past midnight & surgery scheduled for 3, then postponed to 5! I was starving!

Anyway, I'll see you all on the flip side. Thanks to all those who have posted before, making this board an inspirational place that has calmed my nerves despite my body not knowing it yet. ;-)
