Cool My post op at 2 weeks - ACDF 1-24

HI ALL..........If I stirred people up - I AM VERY SORRY........the issue of donor bone or your bone IS A VERY PERSONAL DECISION.....I never intended to insult anyone...or inflict scare or worry.......My only intention was to get information or options out there that may not have been given to someone by the surgeon.........I have heard others state that people they knew had pain long after surgery , but I have also heard of others who have not had long term pain..........

Personally, my recovery has been slow due to several factors........a drug reaction in pre op continued long after the hospital stay.....still have hives, but going away. ......slow moving due to hip surgically site , but very little PAIN in my hip.........today I went to the ER.....positional vertigo......EXTERME DIZZINESS AND NAUSEA, the ER doc called my Neuro to see if he wanted me on a steroid,,,,,my neuro stated that steroids can inhibit bone fusion.......( ANOTHER DIFFERENCE OF OPINION )...they put me on a drug stronger than Dramimine, with a muscle relaxer type additive......they said that this happened due to the fact that I am in the hard collar and unable to move my head, (there really are "marble" type things in your head), those "marbles" are stuck in my inner ear and causing the dizziness........WELL I NEVER !!! I HAVE NEVER FELT SO DRUNK AND YET I HAVE NOT EVEN HAD A DRINK OR A PAIN PILL OR ANY OTHER DRUG TODAY,,,,,,,AND YET I DID NOT KNOW WHICH WAY WAS UP........

Just goes to show you ........You just don't know how your body will respond.......I am not a whiner, I usually heal very fast , always had a speedy recovery after anything, and right now I feel whupped......I am ready to move on from this but my body seems to be saying "SLOOOWW DOOWWN"
ALL IN ALL I REALLY DO FEEL PRETTY GOOD,,,,, I AM NOT TAKING ANY PAIN MEDS .....UNTIL YESTERDAY I WAS ONLY USING AN OCCASIONAL MUSCLE RELAXER ......SO TODAY THE DRUG OF CHOICE IS SOMETHING TO KEEP ME FROM FEELING DRUNK .........IMAGINE THAT.......

WELL sorry I have gone on so.........Everyone chin up.......Look forward......
REMEMBER WHAT YOU FOCUS ON - EXPANDS......SO FOCUS ON RECOVERY....HEALTH AND GETTING BACK TO "NORMAL".........
Blessings to all ......quilter
