It's been a while since I posted here. I had a 3 level ACDF on 4/5, 5/6 and 6/7 with cadaver bone with hardware and screws on Jan 22, 2007.
I've had quite a few surgeries in my life, but none as rough on me as this was!
At about 4 weeks or so after surgery my husband had to take me to the ER because the spasms in my right shoulder just became to great. I had never had that level of pain in my life! After a shot of dilaudid and some strong muscle relaxers, the pain subsided to a tolerable level about two days after.
Since then most of the pain has subsided.
Went to see my surgeons PA at my 6 week post opt appt. I received good news. I am fusing! YAY! And I was able to start my Enbrel back up and since then have felt my energy level increase!
Although my shoulders are still very weak. But they'll be sending me to PT, once I can drive.
All in all I am feeling a lot better these days!
BUT, I still have to wear this aspen collar for another 6 weeks and still cannot drive. BOO HOO
But at least I am finally feeling a lot better! YAY!!
