Both hands are stiff and really hurt something aweful in the morning when I wake up. Then they hurt all day, and both of my arms get numb then quickly go to PINS & NEEDLES. I am nervous b/c this has never happened before. It's been 2 weeks.
I went for my Thoracic Facet Joint Injections this morning, and it was horrible getting an IV b/c my hands hurt so much. Any ideas????
Sounds like could be a nerve compression like Pepper said. I do wake every morning with stiff and painful hands. I did not have this before my surgery but I also have arthritis so I am sure it is the arthritis and has nothing to do with the surgery.
Good luck hope you get answers. I am praying for you
I get the same thing. I think ine is a reaction to the medicine. When I was on Neurontin I started swelling up. It stopped when I went off but is back since I've been on the Lyrica. I think my joints are all swollen and causing pain. It is worse when I wake up in the morning. My fingers are the worst of it. They just throb. Keep me posted.
DietDrPepper, As for new meds...not added recent . BUT, I am on Elavil (gained wt with this one, ), Oxycontin, Celebrex, Prevacid, MultiVit, and PRN meds Percocet, Nasonex, and Xanax. I've been on most of these for years or many months by now. Most recent addition, the Elavil.
My father is a in the medical field and he told me to sleep with my arms ABOVE my head at night....and this morning, I didn't have the aweful pain...just a little bit of stiffness. I thought I'd share that with all of you that have the same type of problem.
He thinks its from a muscle connected to the shoulders/neck....its either being squeezed by extra weight I've put on, or the muscle itself has gotten really big from me relying on my arms for a lot of work instead of my back.
But, I still need a Diagnosis, I have a Doctor's appointment in June, but I was just wondering if anybody has this and what a Doctor has said, what you have done to help it. ANY INFO HELPS!!!!
Since I have woke up 7:00, I have had 80 oz. of water (5 water bottles x 16.9 oz.) and 1 diet dr. pepper. Need I say how thirsty I am and how many times I have been to the restroom. Last night I woke up twice to drink water - I drank 16 oz. during the night too.
I Am Also Very Swollen At Night, And When I Wake Up Its Aweful. I Think It May Be The Neurontin, It Got Worse When I Increased The Dose..
Just So You Know, Next Time You Get The Iv, They Can Numb The Vein In Your Hand So It Doesnt Hurt You.
Only One Place Where I Got Injections Did That, And It Was Wonderrful!!!
