He everyone,

I had a Posterior Cervical Laminotomy and foraminotomy on Jan the 8th of 2008.

This surgery was only to address some of my neck problems.

Long story short at one time the NS said I needed a fusion or disk replacement to fix/help the other problems.

Recently I have been it a terrible amount of pain and called his office so now we are on the tessting path again.

Here is the report from MRI on last Wed....

History: MVA on 7-10-07. Recent Foraminotomy and laminotomy at at C3-4 an C4-5.
Persistent neck pain.

The alignment if the cervical spine, cerebellar tonsillar location, cervical cord signal and the marrow signal through the included bones are all normal.
At the midline within the posterior soft tissues of the neck at C3-4, there is a small amount of postoperative fluid.
There are moderate--sized disk herniations essentially at C3-4, C4-5 & C5-6.
These levels also demonstrate mild to moderate disk narrowing and minimal anterior ostephyte formation. There is a small central protrusion at C6-7. The C2-3 and C7-T1 levels are normal. The spinal canal and neuroforamina are patent.
IMPRESSION:
1. Central Disk herniations at C3-4, C4-5 and C5-6.
2. Postoperative fluid in the posterior soft tissues of the cervical spine at
C3-4.

I am totally in so much pain which the doc has said is coming from the C5-6 disk. I have burign pain at the base of my neck about the shoulderline.
Some symotoms went away and now are coming back. The one thing that is gone it the shock feeling that I would get that was in the back of my neck.

I have always had a variety of symptoms and they have always varied in the intesisty.
At this point I am just sick and tired of the pain the medds and the whole thing.
I just do not know what to do. I do not thin k the report sounds that bad but why why why so frigging much pain. I know that it is nerve buring pain. Feels like a hot knife in my neck.
No over the last few days if I try to tilt my head ear to should to the left it feels like pinching or burning.
I dont see th eNS for 30 days so I am trying to cope the best I can and have been seeking support in the Pain management section.

Please any input is welcomed.
