I have terrible shoulder pain.I have no use of the arm and if I let my arm hang(like when walking),the pain is alot worse)So at work I wear the sling just for some relief, also wear a pain patch, and tapre the bicep/tricep.I cannot tolerate the vicidin at work and any of the many other narcotics my pain management doctor put me on.Any ideas are welcome. This is a work injury from over 6 years ago and Im tired of this constant pain. The pain guy says I should do a trial run of a spinal stimular,to mask the pain.Anyone familiar with this? Thanks
Sandi, you sound just like I was, I just had surgery but was in a sling 6mths before. I could not take my arm just hanging down it was just to painful. I remember waking up with dry heaves because of the pain. It was strange but the weight of the arm felt to heavy for the shoulder to just let it hang & was excruciating to move it. By time surgery came I had very little use of it.
May I ask what is causing your shouler/arm pain? I had alot of pain in the upper chest. ribs & scapula area to. but boy you like me having to put your arm in a sling. Please let me know it you don't mind. Sammy
First I need to ask you what was wrong with your shoulder, you said before your surgery you had barely any use of it either? What surgery was done for you and did it help?
To answer your question about me.I could write a book on this injury and what Im going thru with work comp to NOW just get help for the pain.I was crushed shoulder to shoulder by a forklift way back in 2001.To make a long LONG story shorter,I was hurt pretty bad in the left upper extremity.I was in PT for 3.5 years after the accident, but in helped.I could actually raise the arm again, but with no more than a pound. That was from March 2005-Aug 2005 and then OH MY GOD just like that Soooooooooooooo much pain and lost all the range again.A new Orthopedic doctor did ultrasound test and saw the rotator cuff/bicep were torn.April of 2007 he repaired that.I seen no improvement, just more pain.Had an MRI that showed the bicep was now ruptured.Doc said no reason to fix it and the no use of arm...................permanent.So thats were Im at now.TRYING to get this spinal implant trial run for all this continous pain.Work comp say its mostly all in my mind (the pain) and its not. This is real pain.
