Im 17 and have been cracking my neck almost everyday for like 3 years, lately i have been having Vertigo and really bad neck pains like in the back of my neck in the center...i looked up neck cracking and realize it could lead to stroke and death and all of the that, just today i twisted my neck and felt a sharp pain in my head at the top but it stopped and now i have been feeling weird today...What should i do??? I dont wanna die from a vatal Stroke???

Re: Neck Cracking

The first step is to see a doctor and get some diagnostic tests to see what is going on in your neck. They will usually do an x-ray first, and maybe order an MRI. Have you seen a doctor about this before?

I did not see a doctor but im hoping soon, i had a strange dizzy spell today and it was really scary and i had to leave my neck in one spot...it almost felt like an anxiety attack but idk... i dont have trouble thinking or blurred vision, my neck doesnt hurt now about 4 hours after it happened when I move it...there is just a pain deep within the upper part of my neck, im thinking i pulled somthing..but its annoying and it didnt bother me too much today during track practice

Re: Neck Cracking

In any case, you shouldn't let this go on too much longer. The neck is not something to mess around with. Do you have a doctor that will listen to you? Make sure you tell him/her about all of your symptoms so they can best treat you or determine if you need a referral to a specialist. I hope you find some relief.

Re: Neck Cracking

You definitely should see a Doctor, especially with the other symptoms that you're experiencing. As long as you've stopped cracking your neck, I imagine your condition is completely treatable/manageable. I do realize it's difficult to break a habit like that - my daughter cracks her neck and I'm always bugging her to stop. (Especially, with the neck issues I've faced).

Since you're experience symptoms as a result, I would definitely seek medical advice and maybe have some test run.

Good luck with that.
