Hello. For the past 10 years, and especially the past 2-3 years, I have been experiencing increasing neurological symptoms. I have been diagnosed as having spasticity in my legs, hyperreflexia, and a clonus, and very recently have been experiencing tingling and burning around my body. As far as the neuros can tell, I don't have MS, although we haven't run a spinal tap. All of my MRIs of my brain and spine are normal, and we are just waiting on evoked potential tests. The neuro is suspecting that I have suffered a spinal cord injury somewhere over the past 10 years, either from a spinal tap gone horribly wrong when I was 11, or from some kind of infection. They have discussed the possibility of an undiagnosable neurological disease as well, something unknown to science as per the current technological limits. I admit that it was possible that the LP injured my cord, however, I don't know if a spinal injury can progress after 7-10 years. I have really become much more disabled over the past few years, from being ambulatory, to crutches, to wheelchair, with increasing spasticity and neurological symptoms. Additionally, the last neurological exam showed decreased sensation on the bottom of one foot. Does anyone have any insight as to if this sounds like a spinal injury, or something more systemic? Thanks!
