First, thank you all who have answered all my questions over the past couple of months. I am meeting with the neurosurgeon this afternoon where I will find out if surgery is needed or not, and if so, what they are suggesting.
This site has been a godsend for me. The unknown is worse than anything else, in my opinion. Being able to read about others with the same, or similar, medical issues, and how they have recovered, has set my mind at ease somewhat.
I will confess this morning has been difficult waiting for my appointment. I also have a 90 minute drive to get there. It will be the longest drive I am sure.
Although I have not posted much, I did want you all to know how much you have comforted me during this initial uncertain period. This forum is a wealth of information. ADDED 7:45 PM I just got back from the Dr and he explained the Anterior Laminectomy and he did NOT make it sound very pleasant. It will involve three vertebrae and he said would be pretty major surgery. He offered to try injections first, even though the last Dr said they would not help. This Dr is speaking to the Dr that would do the injections to get his opinion and will call me tomorrow. It would be worth a shot (no pun intended). If those do not help, then I guess I would have no choice but to have the surgery.
