Upper back pain - Spinal Cord Disorders Message Board

I have been having upper back pain between shoulder blades for a while now. My chest hurts also. I can feel sometimes in my left upper arm pains then it may be my right. I have touch and go pains around my knees and feet - I am debating on going to the doctor - I get tired of the run around from them. Does anybody know what it sounds like?

HI,
I had the same symptoms and I went to my family doctor and asked her for a MRI and I got one on my neck turned out I have a herniated disk and have tried 2 epidurals so I might have surgery just waiting on approval. I don't know if you have the same thing, but If you feel comfortable with your doctor tell them your symptoms and tell them you feel you need a MRI.

Lavender, Sure sounds like you have some spinal issues. You really need to have a doc order an MRI. I get the same thing in the upper back & chest, shoulder arm. Dont let it go, I learned the hard way to do so can cause chronic pain for the rest of your life. The C & T spine cause those types of pain. I am going for some injections in the T area to see if it will help the chest pain next week & have had some in the C area. I would bet with an MRI you would find your answers. Good luck Sammy

well I went to the doctor - they did a back x-ray - she came in and said has anyone ever told you that you had scoliosis. I said no - well anyway I'm 51 years old - never been told that before - I asked if that could make your back hurt and chest hurt - well it could maybe since it's out of alignment she said. Anyway they did blood work - for tick disease - tick bite early June - but the blood work then was negative - also did blood work today for joints? Anyway here I sit with the usual pain. She prescribed Ibuprohen 800 mgs.
