What is your activity level after ACDF? I am 1.5 years post-ACDF

Hi,
I thought it would be interesting to see what people's activity levels are after ACDF.

I had ACDF C5-6 1.5 years ago. Since then, I tried to play tennis but now have small herniations at C4-5 and C6-7. I did have some pain, but now am doing well. This summer, I decided to start some light weight training and cardio. For about 3 months, I have been running/biking/light weight lifting 2-3x/s week. I have never felt better. I just ran 3.8 miles today outside.

My neurosurgeon said that some NFL players go back to playing football after ACDF. He said I should do whatever is comfortable for me to do. I wonder what others are doing as far as exercise/activity...

I consider my surgery a success - I had severe spinal cord compression,

Lisa

I had ACDF C5-C7 in Jan. of '07. I am a lot better, but I still get a lot of REALLY tight muscles in my neck, traps, and upper back. If I do too much I have to spend an hour or 2 on a heating pad. :-(
