Why Does My Neck Keeps On Clicking?

Whenever I move my neck it makes a clicking sound and I have been told that its not good for me as when I get elder I will have difficulities moving my neck but also have clicking sound in my knee and would like to know what causes it. I am 26 now so wondering if can you please help and advice me. Thanks
