i've only heard about cervical/back laser surgery. i've never heard about burning of nerves by laser. i'm not sure but it seems like a new procedure.
what do you need it for? do you have neck/back pain?
If it does work, the nerves may grow back with in 9 months to a year. The benifits the pm doc told me is that it would reduce the pain and it would hold off surgery until a later date. The nerve blocks were of no use for me, so he didn't burn my nerves.
I had cervical anterior fusion surgery between C-3 and C-6 twice. I have two plates in that area. I have very bad back pain in my Coccyx and Sacrum. I've had a lot of epidural injections in that area, but they are not helping me. This procedure will burn the tip of the nerves in the sacrum to block the pain from going to the brain. It is suppose to last for six months to a year. My doctor said they have had very good results from it.
