PT after acdf - Spinal Cord Disorders Message Board

I'm wondering what other people exp. with PT after acdf.
I had a hard collar for 4 weeks and soft for 2. Pt for 1week and I am surprised by how weak the muscles are. Did anyone have PT longer than 1 mo? It seems to get a little better everyday, but it feels painfully slow.

I had PT for 8 weeks, 2x a week. It took about 3 weeks before the strength really came back in my hands and arms, but I have regained full function and strength. I still have neuropathy symptoms, but I'm thrilled that I have function.

I had no PT. Just instructions from my surgeon to gradually increase activity with the neck muscles and not to overdo it.

I won't be having any PT. I was also told to gradually increase activities.
