to tell if DDD is genetic?

DDD occurs in everyone - to some degree. At some point, as we age, all people have some degree of degenerative disc disease -it's a natural part of aging. For some people they will never have symptoms of this - all depends on which way the degeneration occurs, if nerves end up impinged, etc.
