Usually your surgeon will decide if he feels it would benefit you - multiple levels, prior cervical surgery, smoker, etc.
I was surprised when after my second surgery of 2 more levels, the rep called to say doc ordered the external bone stimulator. I didn't know it was a consideration pre-op... I fit the list I just gave you, wore it for 4 hrs a day for 4 months. I was not fully fused at 9 months, but was fully fused at 12 months. So it really is an individual decision. I haven't heard of anyone using it and not getting results unless something more was going on or patient had other high risk factors.
