Re: the scar

Good morning estella, we must have had our surgeries around the same time because my scar is raised up too Mine, like yours looks actually pretty good except that it is raised up like that. I just went to neuro the other day and i should have asked him but didn't. I have been putting vitamin E (wal mart) cream on it in order for it to look better in time. doc said anything I wanted to put on it is fine by him. When it starts to look better i will let you know and pls do the same hon

Re: the scar

I think my scar took about 3 months to really look smaller, but now I hardly notice it.

Re: the scar

my doctor said not to put any lotion or anything on mine yet. He used this glue stuff on the outside to seal it, and i think maybe that why, I hope when i go see him in a couple weeks i could start putting something on it to reduce the scarring. estella

My husband did nothing to his scar. I put Vit E, other types of scar stuff, had injections on mine. Both of ours look the same in time. I know it's hard to wait, but in time, it will look like like a thin white line.

Re: the scar

For my neck scar, as soon as I was allowed I put on SPF 30 lip balm at all times so the sun would not affect the scar. But for my back I just use bio-oil (available in any well known drug store). My doctor said I could not use until I was at 3 weeks and that's today so I started today.

Re: the scar

My scar was made in a natural fold line in my neck and it is virtually undetectable and has been so since about 1 year post op. If I did not tell anyone, they would never know I had a scar.
