Question 14-month post-surgery hip and back pain?

I had my second back surgery (discectomy and fusion L4-L5, previous L5-S1 fusion was 22 years ago and never bothered me after) last March. I was very active prior to this surgery and as I was recently given the green light to go back to the gym and pretty much do what I want, I have been.

I still try to be careful, but I have started doing crunches and weights again--and yesterday my back went into spasm--with pain in my right hip, radiating to my groin--I even had a lot of pain on walking. I kind of got scared and stopped everything.

Has anyone had anything similar so many months after surgery?

Should I be concerned.
