Cervical Osteophyte Foraminal Stenosis and Dizziness?

I have been diagnosed with a herniated cervical disk at the C5-6 level(right side)with nerve root compression and mild cord deformity. I also have right-sided osteophyte(bone spur) foraminal stenosis (spinal canal narrrowing). I have numbness and weakness of right arm and hand sometimes, but it's this dizziness and lightheadedness that worries me the most. Has anyone heard of this condition causing this? Does anyone have any useful information? Thank you!

Re: Cervical Osteophyte Foraminal Stenosis and Dizziness?

Hi Lizzy
Thanks for your reply,it helps cheer you up when things seem bad at this time for us all.Your symptoms are so much similar to my own. You mentioned that you got dizzy at tmes and how this worried you,{it does} I have had periods when I felt dizzy, but found this comes and goes.I have an excelent charity website who I can also talk on the phone and get some reasurance from, they say it most probley comes from the pinched nerve c6/7,if that be the case or not ,I think al sorts of funny thigs start to happen when thers pressure on the spinal cord.I was on line for hours last night looking and hoping to find good things. NOT AVALABLE YET BUT COMMING SOON]
I came across some excelent news in new procedures being carried out in this country. The new idea is to replace the old disk with this new metal disk instead of fusion, they have operated on 200 people as studies most seem to be doing well so far, very encouraging for the time ahead.I have a good few addresses can give to you , but not to sure about putting details of surgeons found. Will post again soon.
best wishes Shey
