hi i have been reading posts for the last couple of days and everyone seems very helpful, i have suffered with back pain since i was pregnant on my 1st child 12 yrs ago.in the last 7 yrs it has been chronic low back pain on the right with pain down the leg into my foot.and in the last 3 yrs it has started on the left side with pain down the left leg too.i also have a 2 yr old and a 9 month old. last year i finally got to see pain specialist and orthapedic surgeon at the time i could barely walk,i had paid for an mri 2 yrs previous and showed i had dessicating discs but the pain specialist was not happy with the results said that pain would not be that severe with these results,he noticed the way i walked so sent me for an xray on back and pelvis.it was the first pelvic xray id had and it showed id damaged my pelvis having my son 10 yrs before,so he ordered an urgent mri.i was on morphine patch at the time and was taking diazipam 3 times a day for nerve in leg.i was then seen by an orthapedic surgeon who explained that walking around for 10 yrs with damaged pelvic had damaged my sacroiliac bones.i was pregnant again so had to cancel mri.my pain lessens when im pregnant docs joke il have to stay pregnant all the time and i was going thru severe withdrawal from the meds so surgeon said he would see me after i ahd baby and discuss options.i saw him in sept and he did another xray and said he could see differences since xrays last year.he checked my sacroiliac bones and said they were extremly tender to touch.he thinks my sacroiliac bones are damaged,i have nerve erosion and disc damage too.so 2 i had cortisone steroid injections in my 2 sacro bones to see if it helped,no joy just made things worse. i went back to see him in oct and my syptoms had worsened as the pain was spreading to the groin my knee and i was falling.he was not happy so he admitted me and i was put on complete bedrest and loads of meds and it took 5 days to control pain, i had an emergency mri and it showed slight bulges at l4 l5 s1, disc degenetrive worsened but he could not find anything to explain why i was in so much pain . he thought i have nerve damage but he cant see it on mri. i had an epidural and more sacroiliac injections. the minute the needle went in my back for the epidural the pain shot from the top of my leg causing me to scream and my foot went numb.the pain never stopped in my leg and i had to lie for 4 hrs after without moving then i was allowed up for 10 mins . my pain was again 8-9 and it took another 5 days to get under control. i was given an abdomina ultrasound which was clear and after 13 days was allowed home no better off. my doctor said he could not figure out what was causing the severity of my pain and he could do no more.i was told to take it easy and come back in a month, he then said that they could help no more and they would make an appointment with neuro surgeon for me. its 3 hrs away and the appointment is not till august.im in constant pain which is getting worse daily night times are worse waking in agony not being able to turn without agony climbing up and down stairs on hands and knees,awake for hours.i cant walk for long stand sit or drive anymore,only way i can get comfortable is propped up with pillows.im on solpodol,naprosyn, diazipam and oxycontyn and it helps a bit if i take them and just rest which is impossible with 2 small children the last month my pain has started spreading to my hips and my legs are getting worse, more pain more numbness,burning sensation. im also getting pain in my neck and shoulders and my arms are going numb, i wake every morn and can only feel my little finger my the rest is numb for about 5 minutes..im sorry this post is so long wanted to give as much info as possible.im trying not to get too down but it is very hard,has anyone else had syptoms like these id like to know what im dealing with can i get it fixed i feel useless,i do day to day care of my children,but cant do any fun things with them and my husband,because of the constant pain.im scared if i dont get seen till august to much damage might be done.i was supposed to start physical therapy last week but she said i was too bad she could not touch me. i now have to walk with a frame at all times to stop me falling and breaking a bone, and she has ordered a tens machine for me. that is all she can do till i see the neuro surgeon.i would appreciate any help or advice. does it sound like i have nerve damage and will waiting too long make things harder to fix,thanks so much for listening and any advice would be great, im getting worried about the numbness in my arms in the last few weeks i have a pain at the top of my neck feels bruised and a bit swollen, very sore to touch, i wake 4-5 times a night with numbness in both hands and 2 days ago woke with a really bad pain shooting up my arm this is all new pain iv only ever suffered low back and leg pain. as i wont be seeing a specialist till august i would like to ask could this be referred pain from my low back, or is it something i need to get checkked. i understand noone has medical training and would just like some
