Help With X Ray Please
I had a neck x-ray and need help understanding it. It says that curvature, alignment, vertebral body heights and disc spaces are normal. Then it says, "C5-C7 displaces are reduced with anterior and posterior osteophytes." What the heck are these "displaces" that are reduced with osteophytes? Is this a narrowing of the spinal canal or some kind of foraminal stenosis, or something else? Thanks.

Osteophytes is a fancy word for arthritis. How old are you and what kind of symptoms/pains are you having?

Thanks for responding. I understand what osteophytes are. I just don't understand what "displaces" are. It says that the displaces are reduced... What does that mean?

displaces s/b "disk spaces" ??

there's only so much they can see on an X-ray. and one thing is the amount of space between the vertebrae

Thanks. You're probably right. "Displaces" is probably a typo or a shorthand for "Disk Spaces".
