What to do about the head pain

I Decided to hold off on the acdf surgery and am having another epidural steroid injection tomorrow, I am having a hard time with pain that goes up the back of my head on my left side and causes pretty bad headaches. The pain starts at the base of my scull and moves up. My PM dr is aware and says there may be something we could do about it if I don't get relief after this injection. We didn't discuss what that would be. Does anyone else get these painful headaches? And what did you do to get rid of them?

Re: What to do about the head pain

If you are taking anti-inflamortants you can't do this but get some arthritis formula headache powder, it will help take the edge off it. At least it does for me sometimes. Sometimes there is nothing I can do. I am in the process of getting shots in an area that has had ACDF and a lower area.

Re: What to do about the head pain

I had the same thing and surgery helped me. As for the steroid injections I only had one and it caused scar tissue which prolonged the surgery. My neighbor had an acdf in the late 90's and her doctor was glad she never had the injections because it makes the surgery more complicated.
