Help me read CT report for spine c1 c2
After 9 months of suffering from neck pain and after seeing 5 doctors and 3 different physical therapists. This last doctor finally figured out what my problem is. I apparently have a c1 c2 subluxation (cervical instability). Everyone was looking at my MRI's but nobody ever said get an x-ray. The x-ray is what showed it. I've been in intense pain for the past 3 days now. Nothing like I've ever experienced before.
Can someone help me understand the seriousness of this and what it means? I'm very worried and I'm so scared of being paralysed. I'm seeing a spine specialist in about 3 days. My doctors have not seen the report yet....it's the weekend. I just took a CT scan today and the report read the following....
There is increased c1-c2 spacing between the anterior arch of c1 and the odontoid process currently measuring 3.5-mm. There is also displacement of the porsterior arch inferior and anteriorly causing indentation of the posterior thecal sac.
Bilateral c1-2 facet show decreased joint spacing and sclerotic changes as well as osteophyte formation.

That's outside my small area of knowledge. Perhaps someone else here can help, but you'd probably best just wait for the spine specialist.
