Hey rockenmama, thanks for your reply. Good luck with your 2 ACDF! You are right that you will know more in a year after surgery about what kind of recovery you will make. The same was said to me after I had my surgery. Unfortunately not all of my problems were resolved, but a lot did. From what I understand is that you should be thankful for every little issue that gets resolved because the spinal cord isn't that forgiving with damage.

And this small piece of vertebrae / bone spur that was left there was a decision my first surgeon made to leave it there so I wouldn't be scared that you need to make the same decision in a year.
