I've seen some postings about Burst fractures to L1 along w/ fusion and rods put in and taken out. Well I had that all done as the result of an auto accident when I was 21 yrs old. I am now 48 and have been in pain since that time. I have always been able to still live my life and do many activities. I have also done physical work the whole time. But everyday I have lived with lower back pain also a numbness or tingling in my feet or it also feels like when you get shocked by an electrical outlet thats how my feet have felt for 27 years now. I've eaten so many anti inflammatory pills that a tic tac would give me the same relief. I've had injections in my back. I've gone through more PT then I can remember. I tried numerous chiropractors. All with minimal help. I'm 6' 190 lbs so I have watch my weight knowing that could make it worse. Although the 1st 15 yrs were painful it has really gotten worse the last 10 yrs and really bad the last 2 yrs. I also medicated myself with alcohol and drugs ( vicodin ) for many years only to become addicted and then finally free and clean from those. But that's my story. Now has anyone else lived with pain the whole time since their injury or is it just me. Because if I didn't have a child I needed to raise I would have taken the bridge by now. OK that's all.
