Unhappy previous fusion now further problems

Hi all, I am a new member to this forum. 41 years old live on the Sunny Coast Qld. 20 years ago I had a acdf at c4/5. 3 years ago I started having pins and needles in both hands little fingers. A recent mri and ct show the following:
probable subacute left paracentral disc bulge c6/7 in direct contact with the exiting c7 nerve root on the left. Generalised chronic disc bulge at c5/6. Reduced cervical lordosis with moderately advanced spondylosis sac indentation without significant central stenosis, multilevel disc desiccation and disc space narrowing with annular tearing c5/6. The worse symptoms are both hands pins and needles, shooting electric pain above left breast, two toes on right foot aching nonstop, walking like I am waddling, burning pain in both shoulders, and more recently I feel like something is compressing on my throat. Obviously my neck and shoulder blade area is very sore as well. My question is has anyone here had the throat pain before? It aches and in one particular area, down lower around my adams apple feels like something is poking it. Mri showed my thyroid was of normal size and I have had it under control for a while on Thyroxine. Any feedback would be great appreciated

Re: previous fusion now further problems

Not that it's much help, but I don't see the connection between your MRI report and your symptoms, unless

- the radiologist is understating things
or
- there's something at C7-T1 that was left out. It's your C8 nerves that go down to your little fingers. Those come from the C7-T1 level, and nothing was said about that.

I just can't rationalize your symptoms with what's written about your cervical spine. Either a lot was left out, or the symptoms have some other cause. However, have you had a lumbar MRI, just to see if there may be a spinal source for your gait problems?

Re: previous fusion now further problems

Thankyou for your input. I did fail to include that there is a anterior osteophyte at c5 as well, apparently these can cause some problems with swallowing difficulties, Im not sure if this is what is happening to my throat, feels more like something is pressing on it. The pins and needles has been constant in my little fingers and ring finger for some time now, my middle finger of right hand and the base of my left thumb area. In the left side of my back higher up I get numbness and pins and needles also and pain in the back left hand side of my head. Presently I am waiting for my appointment to the neurosurgeon who hopefully will shed some light on what is going on

Have you seen a neurologist, or can you see one? That is, someone who has no interest in whether or not you have surgery, and who can consider and investigate all the possible non-spinal causes?
