post laminectomy pain and weak leg
I had a laminectomy 3 months ago and I have severe nerve pain in both legs as well as a weak right leg. This has been a nightmare that I can't wake up from. I have to use a cane to walk. The NS does not know what to do with me and has dumped me into "pain management" who didn't do anything either. I have an appt with another surgeon and will make 2 others. The big problem as of today is that I accidentally hit the gas pedal rather than the brake pedal when driving. This happened yesterday and I almost had an accident in the parking lot of a store. Luckily I swerved and hit the brake in time. It scared me so badly that I don't want to drive. I was thinking of driving with my left foot. Is this something that sound feasible? I just can't imagine not being able to drive; then you lose all autonomy and I just can't live with that. I am hoping to maybe get better someday but until that happens I have to drive.
