Confused a lot

Hi

In July of 2012 I had a total fusion from the odontoid process to C5
They had to insert plates under my skull

Now the MRI shows cord flattening at c-6- c7 and T1
I have pain in the ribs which gets worse when I move.

I know my spine. Give it a while and the disc will come out.
I can't understand why this is going on.

What is cord flattening. Is it different from Stenosis.
Because the report said there is stenosis at c-6 c-7

I wanted to know if this domino effect is going to continue?

We don't know how my c- spine was so damaged
