A good doctor and anesthesiologist who are paying attention should make the actual injection 95% pain free. A couple hours later? Varies widely by individual reaction. Most are mild, just sometimes puzzling, and clear up in 24 hours. I have had about 9 with no more than fatigue and weird twitching until the next morning. Unfortunately, never any significant positive results lasting more than several weeks.
