Basically, the numbness is more permanent than the pain. As a nerve heals, the numbness will often linger on and may actually never go away entirely.
I don't know how long you've been suffering with symptons or been in PT. The odds are that if you are still symptomatic 6 months after onset, your only real shot at relief may well be surgery.
What has an MRI, CT myelogram or EMG shown up to now? I would definitely want at least an EMG and MRI to precede any surgery. You may have already posted this info, but I'm afraid to bounce back looking for it may lose the message here.
I hope you can find relief somehow, and the sooner the better!
