throat issues after ACDF

I read another thread but it was closed. I underwent ACDF 2 level and I have problems with a my throat feeling blocked. I cant bend forward or will gag or if i put slight pressure on my throat with my finger I will gag. I am 3 months out and was hoping this would get better but seems to be getting worse. I want to hear what others have experienced and what they did to correct this.

Re: throat issues after ACDF

What does your doctor say? This is certainly something I would be asking about if you are 3 months post-op.

I am 16 days post op on a bi-level (C5 - C7). My throat was never horribly sore but certainly I have that "blocked" sensation which is improving, but slowly. I guess if I had to describe it I would just say my throat feels more "closed" and a little tight.....but I can eat anything without problems. I occasionally have an issue with a pill or vitamin that feels like it gets stuck, so I just glug a lot of water until it feels like it goes down better. I assume I still have some slight swelling due to the procedure.

We are not doctors here, I wish I could be of more help. Certainly ask your surgeon what he/she thinks.
