was one of my first symptoms before surgery,,,,(had acdf with own bone and plated at 2 levels c4-c5,,c5-c6)
because mri showed myelopathy at these levels and now 16 weeks after surgery,,feeling stronger and coordination is returning ,but this numbness is still here,,,was wondering if anyone else out there in cyber world has this condition and can offer their opinion,,i.e.,,,thanks so much,,br

Sounds like you and I are a lot alike, except the numbness in my thigh and knee started right after surgery. NS said that a lumbar disk may have herniated during the 5-hour operation. Seeing him tomorrow for a recheck. See my previous posts for other details. I agree that you should get an MRI of your low back. That's what I'm asking for tomorrow.

memer,,,,forgot to add that in the beginninng,doc thought it was alower problem,,,but i had a full spine MRI done,,,and the problem was in the neck which can affect the legs if one has myelopathy,,,lower back was fine,,,thanks again br

I'm so glad you posted today. I have been in way worse pain with my neck and arm and also have the new problems with my leg (numbness and pain in thigh, knee, and calf) since surgery. My NS told me the leg problems have nothing to do with my neck or the surgery on my neck. He said that the positioning during the procedure could have caused a herniation in the lumbar area. I'm really concerned now that there may be something new wrong in my neck. What did your NS tell you about your leg problem? Did he say it was from the myelopathy? When did you have surgery? I had absolutely no problems at all with that leg before surgery.
