Recovery question - Spinal Cord Disorders Message Board

Please help. How long does is the hospital stay for a posterior surgery? What type of recovery can be expected? I am having a Lamioplasty on 3 levels. They create a hinge in the vert. and its like a door and this will give my cord more room. Also how long will the surgery be? Please, Please, Please help me. I'm freaking out.

Someone with the help you need should be around eventually. Most of us had acdf. But don't freak out, get informed and hang in there... someone will help sooner or later. Welcome!

sorry cain, it sound alot more complex than most, all I can say is mine ( c-7 anterior with own bone and t-plate) was a breeze! they had me thinking I wouldn't be able to lift a spoon to my mouth, and wouuld be on liquid diet for a few days...NOT! I had pasta 3 hours after waking up! and imediatly felt how much stronger my left hand was. wish I knew more about your specific surgery. good luck.
