Does anybody here have migraines/headaches and think/know that it's because of their cervical spinal stenosis? I'm having a myelogram in June and hoping that it will shed some light on my migraines as well as the bone spur!!

yes and no: Yes, I get migraines however instead of 3-4 times a week like I was getting them before surgery now I only get them once a month (maybe). I didnt link the two together until about a month after my surgery last July.

Hello, I have been diag. with Severe Cervical Stenosis. Surgery scheduled on 5/12. At this point I have constant headaches, some worse than others. The surgery is called a Laminoplasty, they go in from the back and create a hinge type of door inorder to give my cord more room. I also have severe arm and leg pains. At this point I can't wait to get the surgery over with. I'm trying to find out the recovery period for a poster. surgery and what pain to expect. I'm sorry about your headaches I wish I had better news for you. Just hang in there. If you start exper. shock like pain and numbness call your NS to report it, maybe they could move up your test and start treatment asap. Good luck. Let me no how things go for you.

Hi Midge,

I have a bad disc c5/6 and get shocking migranes. After a discogram I got my normal migrane and neck/arm pain. I think they are related due to the spasm of neck muscles and nerve entrapment. My NS feels surgery will resolve most of them. My migranes usually occur after neck movement or pain. Take care and do look in to this one. I posted a while back about this and many people with nerve impingement/neck problems seemed to have headaches also.

Midge, migraines can definitely come from cervical problems. Though I had hormonal migraines off and on for years, they were getting less and less frequent as I age.

Then, about 3 months prior to my surgery, I started getting them and it increased in frequency as time went on. Surgery over, and the migraines left, except for the still occasional hormonal one.
