Yesterday was my myelogram. My instructions were to drink 5-6 larges glass of water, juice, or soda pop before the procedure. So, I had 2 glasses of water first. Then I wanted some juice, so I filled a 24oz bottle with apple juice. I drank that in 45 min. By the time we got to the office my stomach was making these horrible sounds and was cramping (idiot)....you guessed it.....I had the runs!! I kept thinking I was so stupid!! It never crossed my mind! I thank God that the doc was 45min late, because it gave me time to....ummmm....clean out! LOL! I went every 10 min. (ding-bat!!)
I was then put on this table, on my belly, and they put this big, round pillow under my belly, ohhh, I hope it can take it. Arms at my sides, head up, chin under a small round pillow! This was SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE!!! Cleaned my back, needle in, quite painful but it was gone fast. Then had this weird feeling: a burning/cool sensation when the dye went in. Then the pillow under belly came out, 5-8 xrays in different positions. Then to the CT Scan room, that took 10-15 mins. And we were done!
I was to lay down (not flat) for the next 24hrs, YUCK! But I did it!! I watched lots of tv, including the movies 'While You Were Sleeping' & 'Maid in Manhatten'. Dh got me everything.....he's so sweet! I slept fine. I was suppose to coninue laying down, but not as much for another 10 hrs today. I didn't exert myself any, but I didn't lay down either, and I'm fine. My back and butt are a tiny bit sore. But, I made it!!
