My follow up with n/s yesterday has gotten so down. He sd I don't need any more surgeries at this point, well that is great for me! But since he won't be getting paid it seems that I am no longer his patient. I need his support since I am still in pain and needing my dis benefits. If he cuts me off who do I turn to? Can a pc doc step in? Do the dis people only take his advise and notes? I saw my ortho doc and he told me to go to my n/s. There is little left to do, I am limited on activities and pt. I just want to make sure I have done all I can b4 the dis deadline next month.

I'm not a disability expert, but it sounds as if you need to contact your GP and bring him copies of all that has happened to you... records, etc. He should be able to help you get disability if that is what is needed and help you with pain management or even see about helping you get into a pain management clinic.

Check the Forum here called "DISABILITIES." I posted a thread called something like "Books about dealing with disability" and someone thought I was asking about how to apply for disability and they provided a good reference for books on how to do this.

I am sorry to hear about your problems with continuing your disability benefits. I do not have ssb but am beginning to think I should have made the effort in the beginning to try to get it. This has brought up a question, but I am going to post it. Good Luck.

Hi , I am sorry to hear about your ongoing problems. I don't know much about the disability / insurance thing in the states. But I would advise you to make sure you get copies of all notes to do with your surgery and treatments. And certainly make use of your primary, and try to have him arrange for you to attend a pain management DR /clinic.
From a PM clinic you will have ongoing assessment and treatment.They are generally very thourough and keep copies of all of their notes as well. The PM doc can certainly help you with disability because of the close monitoring of your condition and progress. Which can only help with your disability claim.
