Hi firefighter. If this is the procedure the above poster described--I had one done also. They actually put it up my nosewhere it turns a corner somehow and goes down your throat. I can't say it was the greatest feeling--but it actually wasn't too bad--no sedation for me. He did have a hard time getting it up there as my nose was broken a few times before. It isn't real bad at all firefighter--no biggie compared to surgery--and hopefully will help your throat diagnoses and recovery. Good Luck.

I don't know what this EGD thing is that you speak of but I do know about (what I like to affectionately refer to as) the forget drug. They give it to you with your valium. You're wide awake but don't remember a thing. It's the only way to go. I've had a few tubes stuck up me and down me in the past and I guarantee you, I would not do it without my friend...the forget drug.
I'm thinking about asking my doctor for a large bottle of it to take during my recovery from surgery tomorrow What do you think? A month or two supply of it ought to do the trick!

I like your idea, maybe I can take one of the forget drug and forget I am having all this fun! See if you can talk the doctor out of a few for me please. I wished I had known about this drug when I was married.... I would have went to my family doctor and ask for a 7 year supply! lol
