Hey all~~~~I thought this thread might all give us a laugh if we post what funny things we have been incapable of doing due to our neck and/or back problems.

Here's my funny story....................

I had always taken for granted the little things when taking care of business in the restroom. We'll one day I was wearing jeans & upon finishing my business found that I was having the most difficult time in getting my pants back on

.

My 1st thought upon discovering this was "I never realized that a pain in the neck would cause so much of a problem in pulling the pants back up".

Next................. come on folks, lets have some good laughs at our own expense Cat

Well, after my ACDF, for about 6 months, I couldn't put a belt on. I couln't get my arms to go around to the back loop any more to slip the belt through. So I had to put the belt on my pants before putting my pants on, so it's become habit now.

I've also noticed that I've lost some head turning motion, I used to could turn my head around to the left to see if anything was coming up on me as I entered the interstate. Now, I just gun it and use my rear view mirro and hope that no one tries to pace me, or they'll be in for a surprise.

I've had such a problem in tying my shoes because I would bend over and start to black out. So picture a 17 year old football player that will be a senoir in high school tying his mother's shoes. I told him and his siblings it was my right for them to tie my shoes now. I did theirs and taught them how.

I was sitting here crying and came across this and yours made me laugh. Thanks...
I been sitting here crying so hard like someone died until I got sick to my stomach so I came to this board to read.... OK now to think of something funny, lets see, when I had my neck brace on and could not see my feet I did a dance with the cat between my feet thru the hall way until I hit the wall, and first time I brushed my teeth I could not bend my head over to spit very well and I looked like I had rabies with all the foam on my mouth, and if I have to back out of a parking spot now days I tend to cuss more freguently..... Ok next...

I'm so sorry that your all having such problems. I had my ACDF on May 8th C-5-6, and I have complete mobility back in my neck! Someone said I may have limitations, but I don't! Maybe it will take you a little longer, be patient!
