Funny symptoms Cerv Stenosis - Spinal Cord Disorders Message Board

A past post of mine indicated I had a dx of post-accident mild to moderate cervical stenosis. I have never been in pain except while recovering from whiplash. My symptoms at their peak were sudden, significant dizziness, balance, gait problems which lasted until ns gave me predisone for 10 days and everything went away for a number of weeks, but returned to around 1/3rd of their severity...a manageable level for me.
Now I am curious about some general issues which may or may not be connected...for which I would appreciate feedback. Regarding intermittent malaise and fatigue --I have noticed an onset of what might be analogous to a sudden drop in blood sugar, expecially while walking or thereafter. My legs (already affected somewhat by the cerv stenosis) become much more weak and stiff pretty suddenly. It is a sudden rapid increase in weakness of the legs, and yes, eating does help but I am weak at least the rest of the day.
I know this sounds common to MS patients, but does this ring a bell for anyone else? Do cervical stenosis symptoms tend to be exaggerated by even slight exercise? Does Cerv stenosis accentuate other undetermined conditions, like possible hidden diabetes? Any insights are greatly appreciated.

Bob, I had cervical stenosis before my 8/21 surgery and I did not notice many of the symptoms you mentioned. Mine were more in the upper back, arm, shoulder, arm, hands, and fingers. Although, I did experience a little more clumsiness than normal and seemed to feel as if I needed to be extra careful going down my house steps. It sounds to me as if you need to pursue this further with your doctor and if it continues to be a problem, keep pursuing it until you get answers. It doesn't sound right to me, but then I'm not a medical person, only a spiney.
