Arrow Light headed, weak in legs...extremely scared and worried...PLEASE HELP!!

Hey everyone, i am a 20 year old male usually in good health. About a month ago i started getting light headed, first off i was extremely worried because 8 months prior to this my friend passed away from a rare disease called hypoplasia of his arteries. This simply means that his arteries didn't develop as he grew and restricted blood flow to the rest of his body. Why i am so paranoid is because i am experiencing the exact symptoms he was having being light headedness, fatigue, and weakness. I am experiencing weakness in my legs, like they are just going to buckle out from underneath me and the light headedness has been constant for over a month, sometimes being worse than others. I've had MRI's, X-RAY's, Thyroid tese, echocardiogram, blood work and everything is coming up negative. In my MRI it showed i had sever sinus infection and my family dr said that was causing the light headedness. So he gave me 2 weeks worth of antibiotic to clear it up. I wasn't experiencing any symptoms of a sinus infection, no congestion, headaches, ect. which striked me as odd. Well i finished the antibiotic a week ago and im still light headed. Im getting extremely worried and scared and dont' kno what i should do. I literally spend every waking hour of the day thinking about this and hoping i don't pass away, im so stressed out over this it literally runs my life and im scared all the time. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!

Okay...take a deep breath......your lightheadedness is probably anxiety related. You have had alot happen in just a short time olus you have had a sinus infection which I will say, usually takes a couple rounds of antibiotics to clear up. They are hard to treat! Also, medications can make you feel light headed as so can a sinus infection. There ya go! Try to relax. When I have anxiety, I get light headed as well. I was in a job that my boss made me extremely stressed and I was light headed up until I finally resigned, now, I hardly ever get that way. You'll be fine, just take it easy for awhile, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep and excercise will also reduce stress and anxiety!

This sounds like anxiety to me. I had a friend who had a seizure when I was 14 years old. I'd never heard of epilepsy back then so I read up on it and the symptoms. I was sure for the next year that I was an epileptic.

I hope you don't mind my jumping in here...I have the exact same symptoms you do--I had all the tests, including more hormonal tests (being a woman and all). All were normal, of course. But I had previously suffered from panic disorder, and it occurred to me that anxiety could be the culprit. So I saw my p-doc and I started taking Paxil CR and an occasional Klonopin at night, and things have drastically improved. I teach aerobics and run marathons, so it was very scary for me to feel the way I did. But things continue to get better every day, and I know it will be OK--you will, too. You may want to go to an internist or specialist who would know more about the workings of brain chemistry...don't feel bad about finding a good psychiatrist--they can be good friends to you!!!!

Take care
