Re: hands and feet itchy
After having an adverse drug reaction to a fluoroquinolone (Cipro, Avelox, Levaquin and many other antibiotics contain it) that damaged my liver, my whole body broke out in a horrid rash and itched from the inside out for about 3 weeks. As I've recovered over the past 2 years, I've only had the same itching in my hands twice; once when I worked in a garage with a ton of chemicals for several hours, and again last night after sleeping in my house after having a new tub installed. There were a great deal of silicone and other adhesive materials used for the tub and surrounding tile, and the out-gassing was strong.
If I mow the lawn with a gas mower, put gas in my car or wear clothes dry-cleaned with percoline, I break out and itch on my arms, legs and/or chin. The doctor said that the drug reaction has sensitized me; but that I can get over it if I stay clear of chemicals and let the liver heal.
The hand thing only happens with strong or lengthy exposure.
My hands swell, get bumpy when I rub them and are very, very painfully itchy! But gratefully, last time it went away in about 4 days. I'm hoping to be so lucky again!
