Anyone Exhausted After Anxiety?

So I've been humming along pretty happily for a couple of months then yesterday morning I felt nervous when I awakened. I drove into town feeling nervous the entire time. In the early afternoon I recovered then, BAM!
From 3pm on I was DEAD TIRED. WEAK. Could barely get out of bed! Does anyone else have this and what is the reason anxiety does this to a person? What if I had some sort of social thingy last night and couldn't have stayed in bed? So I watched the John Lennon story and burst into tears afterwards. Brother; what a wreck.

Yes, Aster, it's totally emotionally draining. I hope you're feeling better. I'm feeling drained myself. Godbless and hugs ginny

Re: Anyone Exhausted After Anxiety?

Hi All, I haven't had the anxiety badly enough to feel drained since that last email. I have had brief spells of it, though, with no lasting results. For instance,
I felt great all day yesterday until I went into a drug store. Seems like each time I go in there I feel anxious. I can't figure it out. It has a Big, Well Lit
feel to it instead of an intimate ,cozy atmosphere if that makes a difference. And one thing I hate: there is no lovely REST ROOMS sign. You would think with sick people in a pharmacy they'd have the consideration of having bathrooms, wouldn't you? Even worse are that most of the grocery stores make you first have to ASK someone, then leave your cart, then wind your way past all these crates and dirty aisles to find their lousy little bathroom . I bet I know exactly where all the restrooms are in each store I go to. Love Aster

When you wake up you have a certain amount of energy for your day.You need to pay attention more to your inner taughts.Try not to waste that energy on useless things.Like worrying about something you have to do.Or someone you have to meet.(big one for me)Or whats work gonna be like?Or maybe something that happened that bothered you,And especially dont spend it on being mad at someone. That takes alot out of you.Your not hurting that person at all just yourself.Basically anything negative will waste that energy pretty quick. Not saying your mean or anything.Everybody gets mad sometimes and if you catch yourself doing these things.Just jump off that train of taught.Sounds easier than it is.Dont just let them go wild.If you do you will quickly find yourself drained.Remember positive taughts will not drain you.You know which ones they are cause they make you feel good.Sometimes I try not to think at all and just be in the moment. But we all know how hard that is.If you can ever do that than you will be free of everything I think.

another thing Id like to add to this. You can counteract neg taughts with positive ones.Like if your worried about something.Tell yourself that there is no need to worry about it.Whatevers going to happen will happen anyway.Something that will make you feel better about that neg taught.Just dont make it to far fetched, you will tend not to believe it.Hope this helps!

Re: Anyone Exhausted After Anxiety?

Hello,
I can totally relate to the exhaustion!!! After anxiety for the past three monthes my body is totally wiped out!! When i wake up in the morning i feel weak and tired and like i got run over by a truck!! I seem to feel better at night though, but throughout the day i feel weak....i hate it. Lately i have been running the track to get my poor worn out muscles back into shape, i think it helps a little bit!!

Re: Anyone Exhausted After Anxiety?

I am experiencing MUCH milder, less frequent anxiety since getting on Buspar (5mg - an unacceptably small dose)and turning out that light at ten pm SHARP.
If I worked I'd have to turn it out much earlier but I'm retired. Lack of sleep GUARANTEES anxiety the entire following day. I've just started on Omega 3 fatty acid capsules and have Coral Calcium (the latest supplement on the mkt) in the mail on it's way to me. No telling how well I'd be if I'd only get on that treadmill!! It's a high dollar, programmable one and here I sit. Aster

Tina,

I think your nurse is wrong. Anxiety affects sleep and also puts the body in a state of muscular tension. When I'm stressed I'm permanently tired.......

With lovingkindness.

Re: Anyone Exhausted After Anxiety?

Your nurse is wrong, in my opinion and experience with anxiety stretching over almost 2 decades.
Constant anxiety will wear a person out. Totally.
Also, did you have a complete thyoid (TSH) testing?
Three years ago my thyroid became hypo. I could bearly hold my head up. A couple weeks on Synthroid and I was fine; I noticed a huge difference after one pill! Then after re-testing I was told to stop the pills asap.
Then there's fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue. I don't know; but there's no question that anxiety knocks you for a loop. I think a person with chronic anxiety and insomnia needs a LOT OF SLEEP and IMO a sleep medication/anti-anxiety med is in order and Possibly thyroid meds. Please keep us posted, Aster

I've ordered a lot of Coral Calcium. Anyone tried it ?
Raked off sea beds or something; the informercial man
may get in hot water saying it prevents and cures cancers. I don't have cancer but this stuff makes amazing claims. I bought it off Ebay. Aster
