Feel like I'm going absolutely insane

A few months ago I started feeling like I couldn't quite concentrate on things as much as I usually could. I couldn't really think that well and I ALWAYS felt tired.
Today I woke up and it's gotten much, much worse. I literally can't think straight. I'm anxious, I'm drifting off constantly, and I can't concentrate on anything. I even have to skim over words once or twice to actually read them. I feel like i'm going insane! Plus the tiredness is back.

So, could this be related to stress? Or could it be some other cause such as sleep, diet etc. Or a mental disorder?

All help appreciated

PS: I get about 10 hours sleep every night. I also drink A lot of Cola.

Re: Feel like I'm going absolutely insane

Hi! To the best of my knowledge, all of the symptoms you list can be attributed to stress, yet at the same time, it wouldn't be prudent to assume so. For instance, your fatigue could be caused by all different sorts of things. I don't know enough about your lifestyle and diet habits to comment at length, but for instance, if you drinks massive cola, you could kind of crash back down from the caffeine high. I used to have a wicked soda habit and it started to make me sick. Also, 10 hrs sleep is normal for some of us, but if you used to do well with 8 hrs, it could be your body's way of telling you something is wrong -- be it stress, vitamin deficiency, etc. When is the last time you had a complete physical, with full lab tests? That would tell you a lot! Your symptoms don't sound like a mental disorder per se, although mental medications can easily cause all those symptoms. Hope this helps a little? Don't over-worry, and please get that physical! Cheers and good luck!!!
